One of my favourite photographs: midnight in Tokyo, painted through my lens.
A businessman (salaryman) stands on an empty platform waiting for the last train home, in Tokyo’s Electric Town: Akihabara, Japan. The man is stood in the middle of the frame, captured from behind. The image is vertical with a cold blue sterile feeling to it. Above him and in the distance are large modern buildings, one sign can be seen briefly - YODOBASHI - one of the worlds largest electronic stores. The lights are off. He holds a briefcase and is lit up by halogen lights overhead. Overhead wires and buildings tower over him, he makes up a tenth of the image in scale. At first glance it may look like an illustration due to the colour treatment.

Photographs I took of Tokyo after dark
Photography by Liam Wong of Tokyo at night in the Ginza district. A large building in the upper market area of Tokyo: many bright strips of light cover the front of a modern building - it looks like rain in neon form. A couple stand at the bottom of the frame in silhouettes. They are miniscule in the 9:16 format image. There is a glow to the lights from the filter. It is a light blue in color, almost sterile. A traffic light and highway sign which reads 'GINZA'. The light is yellow and is glowing. In the background are the rain-like neon light strips which are hazy with a light blue tint. A taxi waits at a rank. The silhouette of the drivers face can be seen. The lights from the previous building are reflecting strongly on the bonnet of the taxi. The light is piercing and sharp on the eyes. It has a blue tint. A large building in the upper market area of Tokyo: many bright strips of light cover the front of a modern building - it looks like rain in neon form. A couple stand at the bottom of the frame in silhouettes. This is a similar shot of the same couple in the first image but a closer crop.
