A bit of fun progressing, an oil painting on gesso and wood panel (part of an old chest of drawers ;-)) inspired by the Rood screen painting of St Cecilia in North Elmham church, Norfolk. A bit of medieval colour to brighten up the day. #oilpainting #notanartist #medieval #colour

Masterful Mystery. Impressive works by the enigmatic Master I.S. one of Rembrandts mysterious and hitherto unidentified contemporaries at the Lakenhal Museum in Leiden. Ageing and imperfection delicately captured. www.lakenhal.nl/en/story/mee...

Dear friends. I’ve done something different launching Legenda by targeting independent bookshops. I didn’t drive all sales to Amazon. So I’m relying on those of you that are reading it to share reviews & spread the word. I want this book to be supported by readers, not algorithms.

I can't put into words how much I truly love these two 12th century characters.
Look kids, they're waving at us!
Centuries of time between us and the doodler vanish and I find myself waving at the screen like an eejit.
THEY ARE SO CUTE.

An elaborately decorated early #medieval double-sided bone comb, found in a warrior's grave in Fridingen (dating early 7th century AD). To protect the delicate tines, the comb was kept in a case.
Long and well-groomed hair was a status symbol.

#Uncanny #UncannyCommunity I think there was a murderous entity in Emily's House ... the cat! Leaving presents of hamsters by the door very cat like, and a pigeon up the chimney? I think there was blood, but the cat licked it clean! 🙀
