Every new life is special. But Zigi is more special than most.

His mother Zongoloni was just 19 months old when poachers killed her mum. She stayed by her side, protecting her as best she could.

Zigi's birth is one of our milestone moments of 2025. Catch up here: www.sheldrickwildlifetrust.o...

It’s a girl! Yesterday, 25-year-old Nasalot returned to Ithumba with her family — which included a notable new addition! Nala, as we named her, is Nasalot’s first daughter. We have no doubt Nala will be able to hold her own among big brothers Nusu and Noah.

POV: Lunchtime with our Voi orphan herd, featuring Baraka. With a helping hand from Keeper Walter, she finishes her milk in record time! You might notice Baraka’s distinctively scarred ears - reminders of the poacher’s snare she survived before she was rescued.

A handshake hello from Kipekee!

Kipekee was rescued in June in a near-skeletal state, having been without her mother’s milk for days.

This footage, taken last month, shows she’s gained in strength, and her once gaunt cheeks are beginning to look almost chubby: swt.bio/kipekee

The western media always refers to “the hostages” as those held by Hamas.

Apparently they are too lazy to access the readily available evidence,
or so imbued with an attitude of dehumanising and ignoring Palestinians (aka racism),
that they rarely mention the hundreds of hostages held by Israel.

Really, truly amazing that OpenAI wants us to believe that they are worth a trillion dollars but also they are so desperate for revenue that they created an infinite SlopTok app that opens them up to a billion lawsuits just so that they can maybe someday make it even worse by filling it with ads.

I think it is important to note that there’s nothing wrong with having a different neurotype, such as Autism (ASD), ADHD, etc. Pathologizing someone with Autism potentially exacerbates existing harms they’re likely already struggling with. It leads to harmful labeling and stigma.

Zigi seizing an opportunity to bug Lenny!
Initially, Lenny was determined to ignore him, but the younger bull tailed him, pulled his ears, and made himself such a nuisance that he had to engage. The antics even caught Kapei's attention - and he usually can't be bothered with baby play!
