I am hearing my constituents loud and clear, and while this is just my opinion as one legislator— I’m not willing to cut budgets without also disconnecting (at least parts) from the federal tax code.

We are on a dangerous path in America. A panel of Ninth Circuit judges has chosen to not hold the president accountable: they just granted the federal government’s motion to stay our first TRO, which prevented the president from deploying Oregon National Guard troops in Oregon.

Great summary. Every legislator but one put their own communities at risk of greater harm with this vote.
New from me: After Oregon’s record-breaking fire season in 2020, lawmakers wanted to map out which properties were most at risk. But anger from homeowners escalated quickly.

Misinformation got accepted as fact.

In this telling, Oregon’s hotter, drier climate isn’t the problem; the map is.

Said goodbye to an amazing run of Team Grayber last night, as Kassy and Eve wrapped up the session and are off to new adventures.

This crew passed historic victories for worker rights, healthcare protections, and brought $225+ mill into the district.

Best in class. What’s next? #orpol #orleg

Heart with Minnesota today.

Ultimately the motive of this attack is unknown - but it’s impossible for me to disconnect the national rhetoric of hatred and violence toward Democrats from a murder targeting Dem elected officials.

Stay safe, everybody. Take care of one another.
Breaking News: A Minnesota lawmaker and her husband were fatally shot in what Gov. Tim Walz called a “politically motivated assassination.” A separate attack targeted a state senator, he said, and officials warned that the gunman was at large. Follow live updates.

I was proud to shepherd this bill with a great team on the House floor today. SB 916 will bring strikes to a faster close in order to preserve the integrity of our businesses and institutions, and the dignity and rights of our workers. It’s a yes/ and. We can do hard things.

Scary in the near term is critical payments getting cut off.

Scary in the long term is a group of bad actors getting access to our systems in a way we can never truly untangle.
NEW: Sources tell my office that Treasury Secretary Bessent has granted DOGE *full* access to this system. Social Security and Medicare benefits, grants, payments to government contractors, including those that compete directly with Musk's own companies. All of it.

Hi all— your friendly local OR State Rep with a brief Friday update.TL; DR is the fed thrash feels like hell because the chaos and fear and destabilization are the point. And I’m not going to tell anyone how to feel, but I will tell you this: we are fighting it. You are not alone.

We’ve got this.

Pick your focus and stick with it. We cannot fight in all fronts or we will become overwhelmed. But we can all peel off a corner in our area of expertise and begin to reveal effective strategies for resisting the chaos. Every single one of us has something to offer.

Today I’m thinking about the messages of Dr. King. I’m thinking about Black, Indigenous, and Immigrant communities. I’m thinking about Trans people, of LGBTQ+ communities, and of women everywhere.

I’m thinking about the resiliency we must show and the work we have to do. Let’s get going.

Hey, so, the next four years, at a minimum, are going to be bad. There's gonna be a lot going on. You're not going to be able to focus on it all, let alone fix it.

Find one thing that's local to you and focus on that. Don't ignore the rest, but don't stretch yourself thin.
