Big long birding day today. 40 species! I don’t have a real camera so these photos I took with my phone through binoculars will have to do. Very cooperative Green Heron model, plus a bunch of nesting Double-crested Cormorants! Northern New Mexico, USA

Finally saw some Horned Larks today!! Plus Common Nighthawks, Black-crowned Night Herons, a Lark Sparrow, various other neat birds, and a bat (not sure what species though, maybe big brown?) 😍 Video is shit quality but features a lark yelling a lot

Went out birding with my mom while my parents were in town last weekend, and she let me try out her camera (my first time with a real - not cell phone - camera). I’m nitpicking this shot now of course but I’m also proud of it as a first attempt! Canyon Towhee with nesting material, Santa Fe NM
