Orban, like Tr*mp, has only his self interest at heart. The question of 'winning' or 'losing' is too simplistic. Russia has already 'lost' in the sense that it has achieved none of its objectives other than a land corridor to, a now strategically useless, Crimea. It's oil industry lies in ruins.

Israel needs to be careful. If not already, soon the Ukrainian technicians and scientists will be the best in the world at counter drone technology and Israel may came begging them for help.

I agree. Cameron was fascinated by the American system of 'accountability' where the elected mayor has full control over policing. America though has 17,000 police departments most covering a small town, whereas E and W has 43 each covering a large area, so there is no 'local' accountability.

Perhaps Schumer has done a deal with Johnson that the Dems won't ask for the files to be released?
Even if they are I'm sure the DoJ will ensure they are heavily sanitised so it will come down to whether Garland had the sense to ensure copies of everything were secured outside Bondi's control.

After the Casey Report 2 years ago I concluded that the Met is simply unmanageable, and it's toxic culture is too ingrained to change. It is 10 times bigger than most other English police forces and it should be broken up into 4 forces and brought into line with the rest of the policing structure.

They've made their point. We all own these lampposts and it's time for by-laws to ban anything being hung on them not specifically authorised by the council.

Call me cynical but I suspect she wants to manufacture an early situation where she challenges the leadership and makes life difficult for Starmer just to demonstrate her 'independence' and left wing credentials?

I agree. It seems completely disproportionate language and actually devalues the term, which is irresponsible of ministers.
