I needed to write this blog. My late father was a Navy noncom. My late husband was also in the Navy. My ex-husband was in the active-duty Army for nearly 5 years. None of them would've done anything remotely like this while they served. They knew better!

BTW, I uploaded a free photo from Pexels that I thought was cute re: the dogs' background above. These two do not look much like the dogs I've had, but something in their expressions called to me and reminded me somehow of them. (Plus, who can resist cute dogs?)
