I had a lot of time to think without distractions and when my brain isn't in crisis mode. I think this is probably the first time I've ever had that.

Gave me the time and ability to think through and realize a few things.

Great trip, highly recommended.

13) Really wish there was a train depot in Surrey or Coquitlam, where I could get off and get on the skytrain. Takes way too long to get into Vancouver, and I need to finish the trip on the skytrain anyways.

12) It's interesting how all along this trip you just see piles of old railway ties and track, just stacked besides the track. Will this be cleaned up? Or will nature just overtake it like the telegraph poll?

11) All along this trip I've seen delipidated polls with wires hanging off them. Some are intact, some are falling apart, some are almost entirely submerged in water. I'm guessing this is an old telegraph line which is no longer used. Such a weird relic to see as the train goes by.

9) Arriving in Winnipeg was interesting vibes. After Toronto it was the first place I knew, it made the trip actually seem connected that I truly was coming home.

I guess it's the scope of of the journey finally became apparent.

3) Polyester blankets shed, make sure to wash them after purchase. Wait isn't that the name of one of the pizza cats? Now I want pizza, I've been living off train food for days.

2) A major part of the issue with train travel is that 1/4 of the time is spent waiting.

In many of areas of the country there wouldn't be a large barrier to twinning them. This would benefit both passengers and industry, why isn't it a priority?

1) Ontario is huge. Staggeringly so, to a level that you don't appreciate from maps and the plane.

I just travelled from Quebec City to Vancouver by train.

The train from Toronto to Vancouver was old and in desperate need of some updates by overall pretty comfortable despite being on it for 97 hour.

A few thoughts after making my way from Quebec City to Vancouver via train over the last week.

LOL did @paula-sues-anne.bsky.social just reply and block me for not finding her 'joke' funny... what's the point of replying and blocking unless you want to pretend you got the last word.

I guess you can leave Twitter but some people's behavior never changes.

Come on Toronto. How is the tap on the left water and the right soap?

Right is shaped like a water tap.
