With 2025 coming to a close I've been thinking a lot about life and mental health.
2016 broke me in way I did not realize. It left me directionless and having to face the harshness of life

I found a single Reese's Pieces (Reese's Piece, Roose???) In my underwear drawer.
I'm very confused, I can't remember the last time I had them, and my underwear drawer is mesh, so if it wasn't recent it would have fallen through.

It really is shocking to me that the US Government shuts down because they can't pass a budget.
Basically anywhere else in the world, the agencies will continue operating, on the old budget.
Some places it means an election will need to be called, but the government continues doing it's job.

Why the heck can I make my phone buzz by using my fitbit, but I can't make my fitbit buzz by using my phone?
Couldn't find it, and there was no good way to find it, couldn't even phone myself since I had it on DND from bed last night (It fell behind the bed when I took it off to shower)

I just travelled from Quebec City to Vancouver by train.
The train from Toronto to Vancouver was old and in desperate need of some updates by overall pretty comfortable despite being on it for 97 hour.

Just got an notification that a concert I'm going to has changed venues from one 30+ minutes on transit, to one that is a 7 minute walk.
Also door time changed from 8:30 to 7:30.
Thought to myself "Woo, I'll be home by like 10:30"
I feel old.

YES this is precisely why I am a cat person, cats just vibe in the same room with you, occasionally want to be petted and otherwise fuck off to some part of the house to be alone because fundamentally they, too, are introverts
Although, I expect @scalzi.com would likely be overwhelmed by a border collie, let alone four goats. I understand that the breed (collie, not goats) is pretty intense, and John seems rather chill.

Got my hair cut, my hair guy told me he's moving to a different location, and suggested I contact him on insta to find out where.
Didn't have the heart to tell him, I go to him because he's somewhat competent and more importantly 2 blocks from home.
Will not be going to a location further away.
