Anyone know of other organizations who are doing this? Especially those that identify as evidence-based and actively supporting DEIJ. Please respond to @globalecoguy.bsky.social ⬇️
We have decided to ban the use of GenAI for research, writing & creative work at our organization.

In fact, we make people sign an agreement saying that their research, analysis, writing, and creative work are *theirs* and not done by GenAI.

I’m sure that being “close enough to hear the noise from an outdoor concert venue, but far enough not to be able to decipher what’s being played or by whom” is considered enhanced interrogation under the Geneva Conventions. #bluesfestthoughts

Do these guys only have one analogy for relations between nations?
JD Vance:

"The Canadian leadership threatening retaliatory tariffs against the Untied States... They just don't have the cards. There is no way that Canada can win a trade war with the United States."

Umm, what mostly sits between them in the Arctic?
Trump envoy Steve Witkoff says the strategy now is for America and Russia to “integrate their energy policies in the Arctic”.

I’m the Canadian who was detained by Ice for two weeks. It felt like I had been kidnapped
I was stuck in a freezing cell without explanation despite eventually having lawyers and media attention. Yet, compared with others, I was lucky

I worked at a place where someone did this once, albeit manually. They failed to notice employees on our org chart shared across teams. Then published a paper about how useless the org was considering all the staff we had. Thankfully not many people read it.
So a wannabe DOGEr at Brown Univ from the conservative student paper took the univ org chart and ran it through an AI aglo to determine which jobs were "BS" in his estimation and then emailed those employees/admins asking them what tasks they do and to justify their jobs. bloat.brownspectator.com

Besides what it will do to US education policy, it will be interesting the extent to which this dooms international assessments like PISA.
I’ve heard from an extremely reliable source that the entire National Center for Education Statistics is **gone**
New — Absolute bloodbath at US Dept. of Education in light of today’s Reduction in Force (RIF) announcement.

Hearing from department sources that offices in Dallas, Boston, New York, SF, Philly and Cleveland have all been shut down. Some staff in remaining offices fired, too.
