The bus was in reverse when the photo was taken, having been parked.*
Apparently this professional driver thought such behaviour was perfectly normal and acceptable.

Coda: there was some relatively small event taking place in Pearse Stadium.
Quite a few cars parked on footpaths earlier, before noon.
Surprisingly, there was also evidence of Council enforcement. It's unusual for Community Wardens to be operating in Salthill on a Sunday.

This is fascinating. The Greens' Ossian Smyth posted a June 2020 wishlist for government, and they've achieved much of it. Yet, the Greens could lose all their seats. It's a bit depressing.

This is ridiculous. Same every week along this road, when hundreds of kids are at soccer. I know there's no intent from the driver, & such parking is normalisd, but this is selfish, inconsiderate, & dangerous. We need to change our attitudes rapidly or ramp up enforcement.
