I missposted yesterday when I said something like, "Dadgummit, git back into thet barrel, Cracker!" They'll never get that cracker back into the barrel. In the Trump administration it's always somebody else's turn.

I'm still bugged by how far #seanfain, in his shortsighted support for Trump's tariffs, has strayed from the international ambitions of unionization. If workers worldwide had that right, cheap labor wouldn't so easily undermine fair trade, no? Better than paying terror-riffs to an impulsive grifter.

I grew up in a small town pool hall. Once-cherished peers have turned up online as vicious fascists, who were so sweet as fucked-up kids. 30 years ago, my classmate in Michael Dennis Browne's class, #AdelheidFischer, clocking me, lent me her copy of Work, for the Night Is Coming, by Jared Carter.

Q: What's wrong with this statement by #hakeemjeffries ?

"The far-right Republican funding bill will unleash havoc on everyday Americans, giving Donald Trump and Elon Musk even more power to continue dismantling the federal government."

A: #FrankLuntz 'd tell Dems, always put Musk before Trump.

#Schumer, there isn't a single minute for not fighting. So: Fight! What tatter of effete decency do you cling to? Dems should've vacated the People's House en masse the minute Trump entered a million minutes ago. Stop enfeebling the party, already! Stand athwart, or stand down.

Musk's chainsaw is Trump's hard-on. The operations they can't kill they'll maim and turn over to market and private equity ventures. They'll be contracted out to current and aspiring oligarchs, stripped for cash, and rented back to the taxpayer at austerity levels for a profit. Just like Russia.

Smashing the stable economy they inherited is the intent. Wealth gap accelerates rent-seeking behavior as unbound capitalism dries up the usual sources for exploitation. (Thus the petty rent-seeking in every consumer encounter.) A wave of foreclosure will drive more property to the landlord class.

Sprechen Sie Englisch or die!

Having been declared the official language of Amerika, English, like the gulf formerly known as that of Mexico, is due for a rechristening. You're probably thinking, "Amerikaans"; but expect White House propaganda minister Steven Cheung to brand it "Anglo-Saxon."

Been wondering for 9 years why Erich Fromm's great explainer, Escape from Freedom, hasn't been on the wind much. I was introduced to it in the 70s by a better-read friend in my little high school. Rightly, M. Gessen includes it their essential reading list.

Escape from Freedom - onegrandbooks.com
Freedom is not easy—it comes with dangers and responsibilities. In this classic text, Fromm argues that if we cannot find a way to live the complexities of freedom, humanity will turn to authoritarian...

Just deleted my FB account, a year after doing the same with X; others to follow. Stand and fight? Yes! But must we pay rent with our data for a place to do it in a bogus public square? Zuck you, Mark F___Burger.
