But for 🇫🇷 (as for most other Memberstates) it's a novelty in long distance passenger Transport. The process itself is set to begin in early May 2026. Hopefully, it will not end up like the last 🇸🇪 Swedish tender for night train services to 🇳🇴 Narvik, which received 0 applications. 2/2

There is no confirmation, that there is none. The Koper branch was already missing in last years map, we missed to rectify that. Sorry for that, it's just volunteer work. We will update the online version.

One of the trains to which the through coach was attached was replaced by a self-propelled EMU (electric multiple unit). Without loco and coupling this connection wasn't technically feasible any more.

Being a regular service it qualifies for our night train map but the booking limitation makes it a cruise train, disqualifying the service. What do you think should we add it? 4/4

According to the press release the train will offer 660 couchettes berths and feature a "wagon bar" (which some media translated as a restaurant car). Booking the train will however only be possible within a travel package. 3/4

The service will be run as Travelski Night Express in Cooperation with Pegasus Rail. Travelski is a brand of the establieshed travel operator Travel Factory who belong since 2018 to Compagnie des Alpes who run a couple of the connected resorts. Their partner Pegasus Rail was founded in 2024. 2/4

Stakeholders present at the presentation confirmed the study in identifying the lack of a ‘go-everywhere’ standard for rolling stock as the main obstacle to train orders. However, the stakeholders disputed that lower track access charges and the alignment of VAT ... #trainsforeurope 🧵 4/5

But the study confirmed the emissions figure for night trains estimated by Back-on-Track. However, the overall potential was estimated to be lower, as the realisable distances were limited to 1,500 km and the cost of a 14-car train was estimated at €50 million. #3percentOverNight 🧵 3/5

Target was to assess the potential of night trains arriving in, departing from or passing through Germany, which was presented at the Ministry on 31 March. Unlike the Back-on-Track study, infrastructure emissions were included, which account for 21% of emissions in the German energy mix. 🧵 2/5
