event is in two weeks & nightmares about it have officially started :) want to connect laptop to projector, realize forgot to bring adapter, trying adapters from students, students getting bored (the horror!), head of department judging, .. thankfully realized it was a dream and woke myself up :)

the problem with ai detectors is that detection itself is fuzzy, just a probability. regular plagiarism software would/could show sources. as long as ai chat data is not accessible, "detection” has no real evidential value

i saved lots of cartoons on my phone, look at them periodically and chuckle to myself. sadly, many of my friends don't find them funny. their loss, i guess :)

because it is the season, we have pumpkin dessert everywhere as well :) a similar version is made with quinces, but served with cream instead of tahini

for people who find persimmons difficult to eat because of the bitterness i can suggest trying only the very ripe ones and if that still feels strange, try the dried fruits. the astringency will be gone

persimmon trees are everywhere where i live now and they are currently drooping under the weight of ripe fruit. love them especially (only?) in the morning in my yogurt bowl. and quince, i love as jam made with little sugar and a hint of clove & cinnamon
