Yesterday was the last day for the V sets on the Central Coast and Newcastle Line

Having operated for 55 years (since 1970!), their replacements, the D sets, feature improved accessibility, power points and tray tables.

Picture: V41, the last 8 car V set on the CCN, terminating at Central

Australia’s model of frequent suburban rail is pretty cool and Canadians should know more about it.
The city truly does not comprehend how suburban rail like GO can be urban rapid transit used by local residents not just a feeder for outsiders. I think this is because North Americans don’t get it. The only examples are an ocean away in Europe and Australia. Australia had no metro because of this!

Sydney, Australia: a new metro line, with more on the way. A killer airport/transit connection. Cool neighborhoods. And, yes — bats.

Mildly warm take: We don't need to focus on pushing for HSR down the east coast right now

Sure, it would be *nice* to have a modern 300kmh bullet train linking our major cities but fixing up what we've already got is, imo, a smarter move

Quite the oddity- T53 at Milsons Point with a black target plate (Hornsby) instead of the typical red (Mortdale)

The Tangara on the left is T153 (iirc), an ex-G set, with their old door buttons

Despite being fairly old in the suburban fleet, I think the Millenniums have a futuristic look, particularly with the uniquely shaped front

Metro patronage hit a new record of 6.1 million in March, weekday average patronage now 240,000.

Although it lost the crown of busiest train line, with T1 recovering to 6.6 million trips after a relatively disruption-free month.
