Safely back in Hokkaido! Had a wonderful time at #GloBIAS2025 in Kobe.
The atmosphere of mutual support was fantastic!
Huge thanks to everyone who interacted with me!
(Our university mascot, Muropyon, enjoyed the beautiful Kobe night view too! 🌃) #GloBIAS

Asked similar question before but I try again. Anyone knows proteins that localize like this? This protein is present in diplonemids/bodonids/euglenids/Naegleria, which have two flagella, but not in trypanosomatids that have just one flagellum. Potentially interesting for flagella/cilia community?
The world is full of crazy and sad news, but here is a protein that localizes to only one of the two flagella

Dynein-2 is tuned for the A-tubule of the ciliary doublet through tubulin tyrosination
Eukaryotic cilia and flagella are thin structures present on the surface of cells, playing vital roles in signaling and cellular motion. Cilia structures rely on intraflagellar transport (IFT), which ...

It’s interesting that all versions of Alphafold distort large extended proteins to ‘globularise’ them. It’s fine for people that understand those helices are ‘bent’ but for non experts it’s confusing. 🫤 🤔 It happens a lot and isn’t well discussed in the community.

Hey researchers (especially non-native speakers of English), do you use generative AI to write papers? If so, how do you (or how should we) acknowledge it?
I haven't, but am thinking how to write next one.
