TidierErrors.jl now has an #rstats counterpart in {errbud}, your local LLM-powered tool for decrypting error messages in R, thanks to @randy.pub.

No more settling for “object of type `builtin` is not subsettable”

It even looks to see what packages are loaded!

Safe to say, things are not looking too good.
Intel laid off several employees who were key maintainers of Linux kernel drivers. As a result, many drivers, including those for CPU temperature and the Slim Bootloader, are now "Orphaned" and lack anyone to maintain them www.phoronix.com/news/Intel-M...
Additional Intel Linux Drivers Left Orphaned & Maintainers Let Go
Well, it's an unpleasant afternoon in Linux land with more signs of the ongoing impact from Intel's corporate-wide restructuring

OpenAI opened two models today, and they are available on Hugging Face 🤗.

Long term, the competition will do the work, and we see LLMs fully open source, as it was with deep learning algorithms and other applications.

The `sudo systemctl soft-reboot` on Linux is used for performing a userspace only reboot operation. It will reboot the Linux distro without the BIOS, UEFI or the hardware having to perform a complete cold boot. As a result your system reboots in seconds but will not load a new Linux kernel.

I ran an #rstats lab for many years before our foray into #pydata, so wouldn’t say my experience is super generalizable. But going back to play with R and seeing improvements to wasm and shinylive, ellmer, ragnar, vitals, and the entire tidy ecosystem reminded me just how batteries-included it is.
