I still have a lot of work to do in my life, and I've realized I really do have to make it happen for myself, (duh I know it's obvious..) and I'm gradually getting there

famously, oil paint can be reworked for months, so it's even better for reworking potential, and that is my second favorite type of paint! It's so nice!

but for me, the most important thing is that I use the paint that I enjoy using the most, and using casein gives me the most satisfaction!

also some of the properties of casein feel almost like a "superpower" when compared to acrylic paint

For example, casein becomes dry to the touch quickly, yet can be reworked for up to two weeks. This means I can layer quickly if I use a light touch, but I can also change things, even days later!

and when I say it made me "almost fearless with my brush", It's not that I'm confident that whatever I paint will be good

it's that I am no longer afraid of being very personal with my art, I know I can just cover it & start over if a painting fails, and I have a ton of practice using casein paint
