And the reason that I chose to only *partially* cover the previous painting, leaving a lot of patches showing through, is because that is an excellent foundation to begin an abstract painting!

Most of my painting these days is a blend of abstract and stylized, but I also do some pure abstract ones.
A canvas panel that is mostly covered with a gray-blue color, but in several places patches of orange, red, and lemon yellow are still showing from the underlying layers of paint.

I don't have much income (if not for my parents letting me stay here, there is no way I would have this much time to paint) so I do a lot of things to keep my costs down.

So the canvas panel I attempted my Halloween painting on will not go to waste. It will form the background for a new painting!!

There is a small shed behind the house and toward the right side of the painting. The grass in the medium and foreground is longer than usual, a bit overgrown. A casein painting of the front of an old rusty truck, and a forest just behind it. The forest is a mix of brown trees without leaves, and many bushy evergreens. There is a layer of about 6 inches of snow on the ground. A casein painting of an old gray plastic chair, in front of a wooden lattice fence. The chair and some of the fencing is over grown with two different kinds of leafy plants and/or vines.

I've been experiencing some intense emotions over the past month or so (or basically my whole life really, lmaoooo)

so recently I decided to get some of those emotions out by making some paintings in a series, of various sizes (the largest is 16 x 20 inch)

A very small painting with fairly vibrant purples, blues, and desaturated lemon yellows, depicting two wooden structures or planks that resemble birdhouses, and the bottom of each birdhouse is crumbling away. Above and between the two structures, and being lit by it, is the crescent moon. A medium sized painting with a vibrant magenta and purple background, depicting two structures that resemble birdhouses. They look like they are connected to a root system that is intertwined together. The edges of the background and bottom of the painting imply that the two structures are frozen or frost covered. In the sky is a crescent moon and 12 stars. A large casein painting with a vibrant blue and purple background, depicting two structures that resemble birdhouses, one is at least twice as tall as the other, and they both appear to be crumbling at the bottom. There are at least a half dozen places on the painting where drip effects were incorporated by letting some of the wet paint drip down the canvas panel. In the sky above but most in the two right corner of the painting are five crescent moons, with one of them being quite large and the others being about half its size.
