This year has destroyed me. I've gotten sick more times this year than in the prior 5 combined.

And there's still another month and a half left.

Watching a video refuting the shrinking attention span claim, going into how context around a task is important.

It cuts to an unskippable ad break, causing me to lose interest and look for something else.

Maybe it's the increasing number of ads and monetization causing this attention problem?

Just had a coworker say she was into #homeopathic medicine. She leans antivax and distrusts the FDA.

... She's also our FDA liaison and in charge of making sure we are compliant.

The other day I drew a subway-style map for The Hobbit, and it was very well received. Some of you asked if I could do one for LoTR, so I have!

Forgive the eel watermark; I'm working on making these something you can buy, if you like.

We ran a randomized controlled trial to see how much AI coding tools speed up experienced open-source developers.

The results surprised us: Developers thought they were 20% faster with AI tools, but they were actually 19% slower when they had access to AI than when they didn't.

I thought #AISlop was bad on my youtube feed, but then I did a search for boar farming. There are 2-3 AI generated videos for each actual video, some of which are stitched together by AI to appease the algorithm. #DeadInternet here we come.

The #protest at MLK Park in #RochesterNY had a strong turnout. I couldn't stay for the march, but we had a spontaneous litter pickup on the east side of the park after discovering construction screws scattered around. That's the sort of people we are. We clean up the mess others leave behind!

THAT staffer is being punished — so why aren’t Hegseth & Waltz???
