Woke up to a ding on the GOG discord apologizing for users "seeing a WIP banner that used AI" like it's the WIPness that's the issue. MF if it isnt the AI that's the issue you wouldnt be apologizing in the first place, stop lying.

GOG burning all their goodwill on AI shit makes sense because it is owned by a rich guy and rich guys have class consciousness and understand that their peers (other rich guys) are invested heavily in AI and they gotta circle the wagons.

Best thing to do is [REDACTED] or, barring that, divest.

You're losing that support because of all the GenAI you're using. You wanna preserve games? Then preserve real art, too!

So disappointed in GoG, been there 16 years. Didn't expect a storefront so dedicated to such an honourable mission to jump immediately on the slopwagon

GOG employees have confirmed AI-generated art use in a current sale banner on the storefront.

While GOG said it wouldn't comment publicly on internal processes, a forum post made by a GOG team member and messages from an official Discord channel sighted by Kotaku confirmed the use of AI tools.

Similar artwork has previously been used in GOG video marketing material. GOG’s current Head of Product is also involved in an AI tools training organisation.

Thrilled to announce that Slay the Princess has officially surpassed one million units sold!

When we started work on it, we couldn't imagine a visual novel would be able to hit such a milestone let alone being backed by critical acclaim. And yet, here we are. We couldn't have done this without you.
