Prison guards are flocking to ICE jobs and frankly this makes sense. Those of us who have been anti-prison organizers for decades have been saying that fascism already existed within prisons/jails. Our best teachers for how to survive fascism are incarcerated people.

The conservative mind is primed for fascism because of their strong attachment to hierarchy and status.

Men > women
White people > minorities
Rich > poor

and so on. As long as they believe they get to oppress people who are lower status, they’ll gladly be oppressed.

This is how Trump wins.

X has decided to limit access to using Grok to create deepfake porn and CSAM to paying subscribers.

This article makes it sound like a response to the outcry but this just sounds like a business move to monetize creating illegal content.

David Osit’s documentary Predators, which I raved about at Sundance, is now streaming on Paramount+. It’s a knotty, complicated, and ultimately very moving account of the legacy of To Catch a Predator and the outsourcing of justice, and … you should watch it.

Coco Jones new album is amazing. I’m only 5 songs in and I’m gagged, these transitions are so good. First album I’ve listened to in a while that makes me interested in what the next song is going to sound like and makes me actually want to listen to the rest of the album.

4-year-old Bakersfield girl facing deportation could die within days of losing medical care - Los Angeles Times

Don’t ever tell me that Christians support the GOP. There is nothing Christian or Christ-like about this. Just plain old cruelty and callousness:

In 2023, a Mexican girl, 4, was allowed U.S. entry for lifesaving medical care. She and her parents, who live in Bakersfield, have been told they must leave.

Fuck proving anything, we can be whatever they say we are as we build up our people and move the dependence for vitality away from colonial systems.

Ashamed of slavery, ashamed of the South, ashamed of the hood, ashamed of the struggle, ashamed of being “average” or instead of “Black excellence”… leaves you with a cultural identity as shallow as a penny on the sidewalk
so many american black people can’t handle the fact that so much of our culture arises from slavery… the idea that we’re “so much more” than our slave history is disrespectful to our ancestors imo 🙂‍↕️

This is shocking - the ban explicitly called transgender people dishonorable for being transgender. It is as clear as day soaked in animus.
