The people killed were likely poor, low-level smugglers, not drug lords.
Most overdose deaths are from fentanyl. Fentanyl doesn't come from South America.

המחשבה על זה שכל הארץ תהיה באופוריה אם יהיה הסכם שאפשר היה להשיג לפני שנה וחצי עושה לי בחילה. הנזק שנגרם בלתי הפיך. בעיקר לפלסטינים. גם לחטופים ומשפחותיהם. ישראל תהיה מצורעת למשך דור. הסכם כזה או אחר עכשיו לא ישנה את זה. אבל ישראל לא בנויה לחשבון נפש, רק לחגיגות, ואני לא חושב שחשבון נפש יבוא.

אולי כי פחות התרכזתי בעלילה ויותר בכתיבה ובעולם האלטרנטיבי שהוא בונה
ואולי בגלל שהספר מצייר עולם יהודי שאבד, יחד עם איזה תחליף ציונות בטעם גלותי. הפעם הוא נגע בי בדרכים שהוא לא נגע בי בעבר - מן הסתם בגלל המקום שהציונות נמצאת בו כיום
