Something the US needs to accept too is that without a large-scale correction imposing consequences on a large number of people, the crisis of governance here will continue indefinitely

This is amazing: byte.tsundoku.io

The first issue I recognize is October 1978. Zooming around in this is like a time machine.

Office archaeology: the first computing device I bought with my own money, working at a computer store in high school. It still works, after giving it new batteries. Somewhere I should still have the card reader and barcode reader accessories for it.

The “problem” with vaccines? They so effective at preventing deaths that they create generations of people that question whether disease was a problem in the first place because they have never experienced the horrors of a world without vaccines.

As a friend of mine noted this morning, the inscription on the Department of Justice building that says "WHERE LAW ENDS, TYRANNY BEGINS" is a warning, not a goal.

just saw someone sincerely arguing that they need AI bc they don't have "natural" artistic talent and idk how to make you understand that nobody comes by this shit naturally. it's just...work. it's being bad at it for a really, really, really long time. it's intention, pursued over time! wtf!!!

Rare work related post. Project Zero continues to do great stuff!
While most vendors ship timely patches for vulnerabilities reported by Project Zero, they don’t always reach users. Today, we’re announcing Reporting Transparency, a new policy to encourage downstream fixes

I will never refer to “Congress” only the “GOPs in Congress.”
“Congress” didn’t pass this murder budget.

Republicans did it.

Republicans did it without a single Democratic vote in the House, without a single Democratic vote in the Senate.

Be precise and give, uh, credit where credit is due

My direct ancestors immigrated between the early 1600s and late 1800s, but of course more recent immigrants have married in, so we're a very mixed bunch.

Immigration has always been one of America's biggest strengths, not a weakness.

Happy Independence Day.

It costs a lot less to house people.

Exactly.
