If someone found orphaned baby civet kits in Mogadishu, who would you suggest that they contact for help?

Excuse you, the Muppets would NEVER.

@ethankocak.com I just took the rubbish to the outside bins and saw a really plump, really long marbled gecko hanging out on the wall just next to my front door!

I was really happy because I haven't seen one here in my house (or in my garden) for several years now

Have you ever wondered about the comparative acidity of the stomach acid of different animals?

@ethankocak.com "Any advice on how/where to release this fella? I know they need access to water so I might need to find a stream or pond of sorts in the vicinity."

@ethankocak.com "Removed this large Fire Salamander from the well. It either lived there (the well is mostly dry due to a leak) or it got syphoned into it with today's heavy rain. It was resting on top of the only bit of rock that stood above the water surface."

A couple of sniffs and a complete lizard rebuff in return. (Bandicoots are neither predators of bobtails, nor prey for bobtails.)

Kookaburras are predatory birds that eat chicks and small adult birds. Wagtail finds this unacceptable.

Wagtail dive bombs a sea eagle

This sea eagle is, in the wagtails opinion, too close to its nest

Here one is trying to drive a predatory lizard away from its eggs/chicks

You might like the Willie Wagtail (also called Djidi Djidi). Angry eyebrows, very territorial, will fight EAGLES despite being smaller than a human fist.

@blackmudpuppy.bsky.social Motorbike frog calling
October 7, 2024 at 11:57 PM
@blackmudpuppy.bsky.social In my garden pond I currently have 3 motorbike frogs. Their call sounds so much like motorbikes, that in other suburbs people have called the police to report bikies "hooning" around at 3am.

@blackmudpuppy.bsky.social It's currently hatchling season for our local endangered western swamp tortoises which is the only member of their genus (lots of conservation efforts)
