In 1968 Finland banned for profit education, the few private schools that exist in Finland have to reinvest any profit they make or pay it back to parents.
It has been in the Top 3 in education for the last 20 years.
There should be no profit in education or healthcare.

Had a scare with Mittens today and had to take him in for an emergency vet appointment. He’s back home and safe with medication. Can’t imagine life without this sweet floofball!

I don’t need a Thanksgiving email from businesses telling me they are thankful for me as a customer. I don’t get a warm fuzzy feeling when a corporation uses holidays to try to market to me and try and increase their stock price by .01%.

We are taking a break from seeing family during Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. It has been a tough year, and we don’t have the energy or patience to deal with all of that bullshit too.

The most popular sport in the town is archery. It makes me happy that the school is teaching something useful for the coming apocalypse.

When we moved from the city to a rural town of about 1500, we never expected to actually hear more and closer gunshots at all hours.
