Nov 5 1919 Almost 3,600 war brides have been shipped to America from Europe. Of this total, 3/5 of the number were French, 1/5 English the rest scattered between 21 nationalities. I am so thankful that grandmother recorded her thoughts on paper every day for 8 days while on her journey to Canada. The 68-page letter is an enduring legacy for my family, as well as the thousands of war brides who came to Canada after the First World War. #warbrides #FWW

Oct 19 1919 Washington Herald reports US military camp is to stay open because there are too many war brides and not enough ships to get them to US. Last camp has 250 of them & 4 babies. Also, all German POWs, held by America have been released www.loc.gov/resource/sn8... bsky.app/profile/this...
