Radical new healthcare startup idea:

It’s like a regular doctor’s office except your appointment happens at the scheduled time.

Is it just me or are music reviews kind of dumb anyway? Take 45 minutes and listen to it and make up your own mind.
Typical straight man review of Taylor Swift’s new album: it’s really good and I actually like it, but I have to find some creepy way to slag her. wapo.st/4mLaosQ
Review | Taylor Swift returns with an album of mixed emotions — and mixed results
“The Life of a Showgirl” wants to feel good, but other feelings keep getting in the way.

It’s funny how a new Taylor Swift album always brings out the haters who are sure the swifties will *finally* hate the new album and turn on her. Nah we still love it. 🤷‍♀️👋

Decided to start a BG3 campaign with a friend last night. Set aside 4 hours:
- 1.5 hours getting the projector to work
- 0.5 hours synchronizing our mod lists
- 2 hours getting my steam deck and her PC on the same patch version

We didn’t actually play the game. 10/10

Yikes… pay your players.
In a conversation with Cathy Engelbert, Napheesa Collier noted that Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, Paige Bueckers and other young stars are driving massive revenue for the WNBA, but are making so little from their rookie contracts.

The commissioner's response, per Collier:

I just got a VERY interesting email that allies in congress were upset that so many of my readers were calling about the anti-trans provisions. I'm here to say: good. I won't let them throw our rights under the bus by cover of night.

All's that to say, keep up the calls. They're hearing you.
1. It's shutdown day, and anti-trans provisions are on the line... either today, or in a few more weeks if a clean continuing resolution passes.

Trump posted a video this morning blaming a shutdown on trans people and immigrants.

Shutdown Day Guide For LGBTQ+ People: "Continuing Resolutions" And New Anti-Trans Posts From The White House
Shutdown day is here, and there has been a lot of competing coverage on Republican priorities, Democrat's demands, and what shutdown politics means for LGBTQ+ people in America.

Why does it feel so likely we’re going to see a last minute deal that throws trans people under the bus? I’m tired.
12 more hours til a shutdown. If one occurs, it will at least be a sign Democrats are willing to play hardball with Republican demands. A clean CR will only kick the can down the road a few weeks and will signal weakness to the Democrats negotiating hand.

Well there it is… day 1…
8. 4(d) is the second REALLY impactful section of the EO. I read it as a federal bathroom ban. Others may read it differently, but I think that this is how this line will be implemented. It will take time to see agencies implement and to root out the specifics of it.

Between all the X stuff, and TikTok shutting down, and all the Meta platform changes - I’m immensely grateful that Bluesky came along when it did.

Kind of sad to see RedNote as the #1 app. I’m glad TikTok refugees are enjoying it but do they not care that their queer friends cannot join them because LGBT content is not allowed? I don’t think this is a step forward yall.

Things are going to get *very* messy if SCOTUS upholds the ban in US vs Skrmetti. It will be permission for red state legislatures to keep infringing on private medical care not just for trans people but for all women.

So if AI produces new content that is generally of lower quality than the material it was trained on… what happens in future iterations of GPT when it’s trained on an internet saturated in low quality AI generated content and it’s getting high off its own supply? Genuinely curious.
