I just want to say, not only is this deeply unprofessional and immature, but I'm honestly surprised someone would try and damage their site like this. I was really hopeful for this place too. But I have no faith in bluesky at this point.

If this isn't taken down for being against terms of service I'm leaving permanently. This is not only misinformation but it's clearly designed to endanger trans peoples lives. The shooter isn't trans nor is connected to a trans person.

This is stupid. And this person should feel awful for these series of tweets. Trans kids deserve better than a federal government banning medical care, only for parents to force stupid toxic positivity.
If a young person falls down the best response is not to go "oh no oh my god you're hurt," because then they go "oh no oh my god I'm hurt" and it makes everything worse -- the best response is to go "sick wipeout dude totally tubular" and high five them.

If everything is a distraction, then what SHOULD we focus on? Personally, if these "distractions" are hurting people(trans rights being harmed, immigrants being kidnapped, firing countless federal workers,etc) then I don't think it's a distraction so much as fascism. And it should be treated as such

I still never understood what "purity testing" was. If I think a politician is going to hurt people like trans people, then they're really bad. If I think a politician would allow genocide as long as they got donated money? Also really bad. Give people something to vote for.
I think progressives have had a problem with "purity tests" (the need for all leaders to have tightly aligned perspectives or else stay quiet about it)
And I think the Democratic Party has had a problem with being...undemocratic - with too much power in the institution and not in the people.
