Oh, one sec.
AUTISM, ACTIVATE!

It’s unscientific to suggest a null hypothesis is that two random things have an association. This basic tenet of the scientific method is that there is no association between two things. A burden of proof is needed to justify that two random things have an association (vaccines and autism).

Vaccines DO NOT cause autism - there is extensive research showing this. Resurrecting old, discredited, fraudulent work is shameful.

Vaccine-preventable illnesses are serious - this is going to cause real harms.

This is dangerous & disappointing.

The worst part of being autistic is when you're about to have a meltdown and people around you don't give a fuck or don't understand your feelings.

PSA: autistic meltdowns are NOT temper tantrums, especially with children and I will sit you the fuck down if you judge them for it or cause problems for them. I really am tired of neurotypicals fr.

It’s too late. I’ve already depicted you as few synapses, tiny think, and myself as many synapses, big think. it’s over

The rise of the autistic detective – why neurodivergent minds are at the heart of modern mysteries
New series such as ‘Elsbeth’ and ‘Patience’ continue a long tradition of sleuths who come across as eccentric or aloof. But now there’s a name for these minds that work differently.

"Aren't we all a little #autistic?"

No. You either are or you aren't.

That's it. That's all.

Right wing conspiracy theorists are wild cos politicians will just openly be like, "I fuck kids and love genocide," and they'll be like, "nah I don't believe that and actually trust them unconditionally, but Lady Gaga is DEFINITELY casting magic spells over the radio to turn kids trans and autistic"

Being autistic is waking up and remembering what my routine is.

Being autistic is also waking up and totally forgetting the structure of my routine.

A lot of research & media seem interested in making autism into “the white male Nazi sex-offender disorder,” & it’s unspeakably gross. Just another channel for villification & stigma, alongside the “pathetic, subhuman tragedy” narrative. #Autistic

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:

Saying shit like "Well, we are all a little autistic" is NOT OK.

It completely dismisses the very real struggle autistic people go through every day.

If your symptoms aren't ruling your life, you most likely are NOT autistic, saying so is insensitive af.

Yes he is
When people try to defend Musk by bringing up his autism, it's good to remember that other autistic folk - usually women, like Billie Eilish and Greta Thunberg - keep dragging him to fuck.

It's not the autism. The man is simply a nasty cunt.
Billie Eilish calls out Elon Musk for not using his wealth to aid humanity and resolve global issues:

I'm thinking about how (many) neurotypicals think autistics are broken because we don't like doing immoral shit even in private. (seriously, researchers attribute our apparently lower level of hypocrisy to deficits).

In my 50s and still this way...
I've suddenly recalled how proud my mom was when she saw me taking a book and sitting aside from the other kids to enjoy it in kindergarten.

The thing is, I also remember me sitting there, looking at the pages, and just hoping nobody would interact with me.

Would love the tools as well, and no your app ain't gonna cut it...
it’s really difficult, apparently, to find helpful, concrete resouces for making life as an autistic easier. at least for me.

executive functioning is my kryptonite and i would love to find tools that address that in a way that isn’t overwhelming or annoying.

like, no, i don’t want an app.

And I'm most likely going to try and pet it even if I may get eaten
I CANNOT see an animal and not point at it. No amount of shaming and social pressure can stop me. Dog? I'm going to point at it. Owl? Point. Lizard? I'm pointing at that shit. You cannot extinguish my autistic joy.

This may be one of the best summaries of my life...
Kinda wild being the hyper-observant flavor of autistic. Like, what do you mean I pick up on everything BUT social cues?

Masking is never just behaviour.

It’s architecture that keeps us safe.

Built on shitty foundations.

A whole nervous system built to survive disapproval.

That’s why unmasking often feels like demolition - not liberation.

But only at first.

Rebuilding is liberation.
