It’s no surprise that Scott Bessent and Donald Trump want to save face and downplay the risks as Elon Musk seizes power, but the American people know better. Trump and Bessent are asking you not to believe what’s playing out right in front of your eyes.

Wenn sich manche nicht mehr darauf verlassen können, dass die Grund- und Menschenrechte auch für sie gelten, kann sich niemand mehr darauf verlassen. Ein Kanzlerkandidat, der genau dies ankündigt, der sich selektiv nicht mehr an das Recht halten will, ist gefährlich.

Was untergeht in dieser Debatte: Wer deutsche Grenzen für Geflüchtete "dicht" machen will, will Schengen beenden, Europa im Kern beschädigen - und am Ende Mauern und Zäune errichten. Ohne damit verhindern zu können, dass schlimmste Verbrechen in diesem Land geschehen.
