Anyone referring to autism as the "'tism", especially in the context of describing a child, is on my automatic shit list. Case in point–the lady at the bar sitting near me who's whining to her friend about (what sounds like) her child.

As the partner of someone with a chronic health condition (POTS) who is counting on the efforts of NIH-funded research to hopefully one day develop treatments to eliminate this horrid condition, this is horrifying and defeating beyond measure. How do we stop this? What can we fucking do?

Completely correct. The court of public opinion is the only one that matters when it comes to these issues.

Semantics are irrelevant, Trump will take credit for this “rescue” and use it to distract from the immediate damage he causes in his first 100 days.

That said, if anyone can direct me towards good road/gravel biking content, please do so. Biking is the only thing that keeps me sane outside of music and audio.

As correct as @rbreich.bsky.social is, fatalism is the current default for many (including myself) when we are being relentlessly bombarded with one societal failure after another.

I’ve learned over the last couple days how annoying fleas are to deal with, and also how tricky applying flea medicine to cats can be. This one is the most so. 😅

I’ve intentionally shied away from sharing political and socioeconomic content on my pages for a while now, mostly due to the just sheer overwhelm of negative, downright depressing news and things happening. Contributing to that feels counterproductive. But also disconnecting? Anyone else?
