We occasionally get derailed by awkwardly reciting our favorite Will Ferrell movie quotes to each other

"You know, Elf is actually a Christmas movie"

Her strategy for trans kids in youth sports: let local orgs ban it, not local politicians.

Her strategies for trans kids' medical care: 1) let the doctors and parents veto the kid, 2) let WPATH tighten up their gatekeeping role

Talking about the human dignity of kids is just gauche, let's avoid it

Gonna quickly unload a few more McBride observations (sorry) cause I'm finally watching her Klein interview today. A lot of it's useless because there's just empty rhetoric about "we" doing things wrong, without ever giving specific examples. Just two bitches saying exactlyyyy to each other

With this, it's obvious in retrospect that Katelyn and Jael's posts were part of a larger post election media strategy trying to rehabilitate her reputation 🙄 McBrides reference to BlueSky in this article makes clear that it's gotten under her skin

im ngl "honk" is a word that reeks of subtle elitism and we should probably expunge it from our vocabularies.

That's very meagre, and isn't the foundation of something that would've grown the org "significantly", as you otherwise confidently projected upthread.

The simplest expln is that people get attached to candidates, and then motivated reasoning kicks in to figure out why orgs should support.

How to actually have a candidate "steer" their campaign volunteers towards a specific organization after the election in any meaningful sense is the part where people get real vague real fast. Usually it boils down to an empty email blast to the shift lead distro that goes immediately into spam

I do think this is unreasonable. Seattle DSA has worked well with Wilson in the past, and I think many members are excited that she defeated Harrell. But she clearly explained through the process that Seattle DSA's endorsement meant little to her beyond website window dressing.

Once again proving that "purity test" is just code for "you have a strong belief that I don't share". It's fine to have housing supply as your own redline, but share that generosity with others, who take anti sweep lines based on their experience.
