I went to an affirming church service in person for the first time this morning. Scripture was read, worship songs and hymns were sung, communion was given, peace was passed, and the Gospel was preached. Perhaps the resistance is similar to what we know, just a tad more sparkly? Happy Pride! 💜🌈

A very gay Saturday: went to a bookstore to get the second book of a gay werewolf series (TJ Klune, darling, Green Creek is everything to me now!), shopped at Trader Joe’s, and then a barista made eyes at me while I sipped a white mocha at a coffee shop (alas, no meet cute, but I did stare back!)

Pope Francis passed away this morning at the age of 88. He was the most Jesus centered, justice focused, and inclusive reformer to lead the Catholic Church since Pope John XXIII.

Even though I’m not Catholic, I will greatly miss him and his humble yet courageous leadership.

Today, my tea ceremony group cerebrated Rikyuki, a memorial of the founder of our school, Sen no Rikyu. Some classmates received certificates from the school HQ in Japan, allowing them to continue their studies. Then, we took turns placing flowers in the alcove as a way of saying thank you to Rikyu.
