Wow, am I excited to share this work led by @renamschweizer.bsky.social! Bumble bees are declining around the world, and this team is doing the hard work to find out why.

This year I've joined the search for the endangered Sacramento Mountains checkerspot butterfly. It hasn't been seen since 2022, but we aren't giving up! In the meantime, we spotted some beautiful butterfiles within the historical range. (1/2) #invert 🌍 🧪

Please share! The OSyM NSF network is offering $5,000 research exchange grants for organismal biologists to visit a lab or bring a researcher to their home lab. The work must incorporate modeling. This is an awesome opportunity! Applications due August 1st. 🧪🌏 #WomenInSTEM

Obviously, the Trump administration's cap on overhead was ill-conceived and intended to be punative, but I'd also be lying if I said I've never cursed overhead rates. Should there be a conversation about indirect rates? Who would be involved?🧪 #academicsky

In the span of just three months, the US has ceded our leadership in science and innovation that took generations to build. As a result, we are less prepared to meet emerging challenges and leverage science to solve society’s most pressing problems.

While it’s unfortunate that honeybees are seeing die-offs, they are actually non-native livestock in the United States.

Plant some keystone species from your region and support the native bee and pollinator species!
