I always hoped that a version of this was built and deployed and we just didn't know about it. Seems unlikely now, given the X-37B. Due to the hypersonic thermal requirements, I doubt this would be blue. (See Pepsi Concorde.) Looks amazing though.

Yeah, I’ve been trying to sell them replacement data since 2022 for both DMSP & Cosmic 2. It turns out the govt customer can remain disfunctional longer than you can remain solvent.

I don’t think this is a policy decision in this case. I think this is because, on this same day, the US military DSIP weather satellites will stop delivering data (they are EOL). No replacements are planned. (That’s just general disfunction though. Last admin couldn’t be bothered either.)

This would apply to the DoD as well. He’s saying the DoD needs to be loyal to him when he gives an unconstitutional order. That’s kind of a big deal and slightly more important maybe than the FCC and SEC.

LEO is typically flown as low as 400km though. I bet that would help the math a lot :)

Did that. For me it was Atari; 2600 magazine; DnD; punk & New Wave on The Quake; getting rare vinyl in Berkeley; assembling PCs from parts like we do with cubesats today; and taking BART to SF to skate down the hills and ride the banks.
