Write your senators! Every. Single. Day! Flood their emails with your concerns even when they send pat responses. Call their offices. As someone said earlier, MAKE IT YOUR GOAL THAT YOUR SENATORS KNOW YOUR NAME! It only takes a few minutes a day.
