The Cop City RICO is in crisis. Judge Farmer plans to throw out the bulk of the case on the reasoning that the Georgia Attorney General's office was not invited by the Fulton DA (Fani Willis) to bring the case, so it lacks constitutional authority to prosecute.

Pre-trial motions were heard today for the Cop City RICO case. Prosecutors showed that they lack evidence, and worse - they haven't even bothered to build a coherent argument over the past two years.
Political prosecutions are about suppressing protest, not winning trials.

Over two years ago, Jamie Marsicano was arrested and charged with "domestic terrorism" because of their participation in protests against Cop City. Today those charges have been dismissed. While the RICO case still stands, this is a telling victory in the larger fight.

Chris Carr threatens to charge protesters with domestic terrorism. He knows this is unconstitutional (the courts will ultimately throw out such cases) but he hopes that in the meantime, shock and fear will keep people out of the streets. Don't let the AG's terrorist tactics win.

The authorities have deployed the military against protesters in Atlanta as recently as 2023. There's no doubt they will try it again sooner or later. But people have a right to protest, to march, to fight for justice. No power, not even the military, can take that away.

First the Atlanta Police Foundation, now the DHS/FBI...why are the authorities going to such lengths to conceal information about their activities against the Stop Cop City Movement?

The criminal legal system is being used by right wing politicians to punish their political enemies without ever showing evidence or holding a trial. If we allow the lives of protesters to be destroyed like this, the First Amendment is meaningless.

Police repress protest movements through bogus arrests and charges, but also through media discourse.
The move to call protesting "terrorism" contributed to the murder of Tortuguita. When police push to call a group terrorists, it's because they want to be allowed to kill them.
