This is not the end of the RICO case, but it's a reminder that the State's campaign of repression is destined to fail. What happens next will decide whether the AG simply returns to the drawing board for the next round of attacks, or is finally held accountable for their abuses.

...the authorities have ignored due process and constitutional rights in their rush to shut down dissent. While it's good to see this recognized now, we are still waiting for justice for the many other violations which all Cop City defendants still face.

The Attorney General's web of repression is unraveling. Another judge is now on record finding serious flaws in the case against Cop City defendants. The judge recognized that the AG is deliberately violating due process rights to gain "tactical advantage" in their prosecution.

As the result of many suits showing a pattern of misconduct, courts are beginning to acknowledge the existence of an institutional "Cop City Policy" dictating targeted repression of activists. This creates institutional legal liability for APD, GSP, Atlanta and GA governments.
