Religious identity is fading in many countries. From 2010 to 2020, the share of the population that was affiliated with any religion dropped at least 5 percentage points in 35 countries, according to a recent Pew Research Center study.

We've supported this amendment. The Bill to remove hereditary peers from the House of Lords is a welcome step forward. The next logical step is to remove the Bishops, ending the outdated feudal overhang of the Church of England’s privileged and guaranteed place in our Parliament.

We must dismantle the systems that perpetuate religious and racial segregation in our schools.

As currently drafted, this bill risks opening the floodgates to new schools that can select up to 100% of pupils based on religion. We can’t let this happen.

That's a wrap. Our CEO Fraser Sutherland gave evidence this morning to Holyrood's health committee explaining why humanists are backing a bill for #AssistedDying in Scotland. Fraser reminded the panel that this bill is for terminally ill people alone, and does not threaten disabled people's rights
