amtrak is always having flash sales and if you plan far enough in advance you can get on the amtrak (in the northeast, at least) for cheaper than the bus. between a deal and planning ive gotten from nyc to dc on an acela for $30
All Amtrak needs to do is drop prices a bit, create more :express" routes and they'll have a banner year cause this flight situation and the firing of more FAA staff. No one is feeling excited to fly rn
