I feel like efficiency is underrated in modern game development. Modern games are huge and resource intensive, with a lot of overhead.

I have friends from playing League who played it because it's all their computer could run.

Running on anything widens your market a lot.

I keep seeing people make these game dev starter packs, so I decided to make a solo dev starter pack, especially since we don't actually have a solo dev feed. If you make games mostly by yourself (say 80% or so), let me know and I can add you to the pack.

Honestly, being a solo dev is kind of great for my adhd brain. I can just jump around from code to art to story to music to game design whenever I want. It keeps me from getting too bored with it.

Yesterday I mentioned hard modes, but there are options to make things easier as well. You can fine tune the AI in any way. You can change the makeup of packs to grind less. Yesterday I added a simple mode that removes instant speed cards. Losing only hurts if you want it to.

In Pokemon, a Nuzlocke is an extra challenge mode where your mons die permanently. I'm adding two of these as options to my game. In one a card dies in battle it's gone for good, the other the same, but you get an amount replenished after battle since you will lose a lot.

My fiancee is on a plane here from Poland for a trip, so time to share something personal.

This entire game is a love letter to her. The main character is named after her, it's Slavic mythology because she is proud of her Slavic heritage.

I could not do it without her.

Today I will share the card I used to design the layout, Dziwozona. She is a malicious swamp demoness. She provides silver mana, which is difficult to come by. Silver cards are intentionally very powerful, but hard to get mana for. Only few, costly cards provide it.
