I feel this on a deep level.
My wish for 2026 is more km of protected bike lanes. Most especially on the routes I most use. Would love to be able to go 2 or 5 km to the store without having to worry and fear I will get hit. Imagine a life where you can commute by choice without fear of loss of life or injury.

Allen was on a scooter on his way to volunteer at the Streets For All holiday party when he hit a pothole in the middle of a "large asphalt repair" done in April. Instead of properly repaving our streets, the city is doing these half-assed patches that don't even hold up for a few months.
A safe streets advocate was injured this weekend after hitting uneven pavement in the bike lane in DTLA.
He sustained three fractures and dental trauma and faces a lot of unanticipated medical and financial expenses.
