Urban Design Fail. Land levels are higher than sidewalk so water from downspout drains (directly or indirectly) to sidewalk. Then it freezes & we have an icy section like this at almost every house. Slush now, very difficult to navigate when frozen. @cityofwinnipeg.bsky.social #ActiveTransportation

Unless it is for medical reasons, there should be a fine for stepping down before your Parliament or Legislative terms ends. The fine could be equal to the cost of a by election.

Pioneers Pass is ready for take off! Thanks @cityofwinnipeg.bsky.social for the excellent snow clearing job on NorthEast Pioneers Greenway. It made my 13 km of errands today so much easier and more enjoyable. & One less car on the road creating traffic and collisions. #bike #trike #etrike

My wish for 2026 is more km of protected bike lanes. Most especially on the routes I most use. Would love to be able to go 2 or 5 km to the store without having to worry and fear I will get hit. Imagine a life where you can commute by choice without fear of loss of life or injury.

Sidewalks on Rothesay were plowed quite well, except for mounds piled at intersections. So yeah I moved to running on the road to get groceries home. @cityofwinnipeg.bsky.social

Does @cityofwinnipeg.bsky.social not plow P1 sidewalks north of Bonner on Henderson? #ActiveTransportstion #InactiveTransportation. Yesterday sidewalks were not plowed north of Bonner, plus huge mounds of snow at intersections blocking access to unplowed sidewalk.

I love seeing these videos, but also depressing to see how poorly my city compares. But @bikewinnipeg.bsky.social is working hard to get improvements made.
First snowfall of the winter, which means also the first snow plows of the winter. On bike paths, of course. Tomorrow's forecast is full of rain and all this snow will probably be gone very soon, but of course, we can't wait for that here in Oulu 🇫🇮 👌☃️🚲🚶❄️

Also - in Finland, when you commute via bike, you get three tax breaks. France also gives a tax break for cyclist commuters. #yyccc could do the same if they were serious about parking and climate.
