Hi all (doing everything out of order)

I'm Lexi, writing as AS Williams. I write fantasy, though science fantasy is my comfort zone (think Star Wars, not Star Trek). My preferred subgenre is LitRPG, within a High Fantasy setting. And I have... projects... Top 3 🔽

I have major projects in the works, but nothing coming out in 'soon' timescales. Once things are more concrete, I'll be posting my website (already have the domain, just need to tweak the setup) and all updates will likely be posted here as well.

I just run through a full plot. Plot out the whole thing, write a few scenes. Then I take a sledgehammer, and anything that doesn't survive a few good swings is out.

Change what needs to change. Do it again. I go through this 5 or 6 times, and I usually find a solid story.

I have my writing exercises setup. I just basically crawl between their ears and write a few scenes from how they'd see them. What do they notice on the kitchen counter? The dust or the bow of fruit? Gunshots! What's their first response?

I prefer 1st person present. Not a popular choice, I know, but I love how the writing feels, how the reader can get between the ears of my characters and truly experience the world through them. I wouldn't trade it for the world.

I'm actually doing this right now. I tend to avoid having a man as POV character, but with this story, having a father-daughter dual POV just makes sense. The reader is never left wondering where the characters are in their journey of healing together and individually.
