Ooh! I've already hated he hand she was dealt, so that sounds like an awesome way to approach this.

Lu was born into the tribes and raised in their Olde Ways. They don't have an organized religion, they're more for ancestor worship. It's a complicated situation though. Too many of her daughters were stolen from them, and lost their ways over time. It's hard on her. 2/2

Nymphs don't worship, they are worshiped---or used to be. Because of the shift Thero can't make sense of, and how nymphs are basically prestige slaves, she avoids people as a rule. 'They' just use nympholepsy as a legal defense to do whatever they please, so screw them all. 1/2

"Do you enjoy dancing?" This is the most violent question they'd ever ask. So it's only said in Trade, for outsiders. It's basically warning their whole tribe shit is about to hit the fan, and usually said in an eerily calm tone. If you hear this, don't run. You'll die tired. 6/6

"Until the suns warm the sands no longer," is a somewhat romantic poetry to them. They come from the Eternal Plane, so that moment will never come. The twin suns will always warm the sands of their homeland. However, this is only something you say to your lover. 5/6

"Death is welcome here", it's a greeting they say. Usually reserved for those they don't see as 'us'. It's telling the outsider: "Either kill me or leave, but this will not go the way you hoped." They are not a people given to small talk with outsiders. 4/6

"There is no me", is I think the most revealing. They would never say this in their native tongue, because there is no 1st person singular pronoun. They are a dividual people. They make no distinction between 'me' and 'my tribe'. To them, it's the same thing. 3/6

"Honour among the waves", is the most sarcastic of the sayings they know. It's only ever used referring to those who would push you down for another gasp of air. 2/6

Thero, in her thus-far plotted journey hasn't encountered many.

However, Zee, (Aria for a Cursed Fate), Lu (Ghosts of Shadowfall) and Kyuri (Soldiers of Fort Rayne) share a culture, though they are separated for their tales. So a few they know? 1/6

How this affects her choices? Years are basically meaningless to her. She's only in her sixties, so she isn't completely ignorant to the passage of time, but she's pretty dismissive of the concept of time. For good or for ill. 3/3

First, and hardest for her to cope with, is that she's not an adult until she's a thousand. Her race physically matures at three-hundred years, and she has no idea where the thousand mark comes in, but that's her legal reality.

She also faces some stupidly long pregnancies. 2/?

Thero is a nymph, an Aurai specifically (wind nymph of the lineage of Boreas, the North Wind). Her people are basically immortal, but not 'god level' immortal. They can be killed, it's just hard to do.

This has a lot of weird consequences for her that she doesn't know how to handle. 1/?

TL;DR

If there is a (healthy) story about a (healthy) straight couple doing it: make it gay and start from the top.
March 29, 2024 at 1:20 PM
I want a dominant femme spanking her butch lover. I want short top climbing her tall bottom like she's Everest. I want queerly beloved weddings and spicy honeymoons. I want sneaky don't-wake-the-kids sex, but it's too good and oh-fuck-what-was-that?

I want it all.

I have a simple stance: until the market is saturated with the same straight tropes, but gayer, our work is not done.

So: slow burns, marriage of convenience, political marriage, how about more random hookups at parties, or healthy BDSM? Magic for gay couples to have babies.
