I work at the intersection of data and policy to build a stronger social sector. Interested in building a better information ecosystem to defend democracy.

We need to start pushing back—legally

If they’re masked, unmarked, and flashing Amazon gear, report it for what it is: an attempted kidnapping by law enforcement impersonators.

This valuable analysis by NYT makes one thing clear: We’ve lost working and middle class voters of every race, in every part of the country. If the only ones still listening to the Democrats are wealthy and educated, we are not the party of equity and opportunity.

The steady march to the right across a vast number of counties reveals the extent of the nation's transformation in the Trump era, and the seriousness of the Democrats' problems.

It’s demoralizing to see so many entities and individuals caving to this administration’s extortionist attempts to subvert the will of the people and undermine the rule of law. Huge gratitude for Elias Law and others who are holding the line and refusing to cower.
This morning, the White House issued a Presidential Memorandum titled “Preventing Abuses of the Legal System and the Federal Court.”

Elias Law Group Chair @marcelias.bsky.social Elias issued the following statement in response.

About an hour from me, this was Jackie sheltering her eaglets from a storm bearing down on her nest this morning, and I won’t let even Chuck Schumer ruin the hopeful symbolism of this steadfast mama bravely doing what must be done to protect the next generation.

None of us can be sure what will “work.” You try multiple things and find your way in. Read some histories of the Civil Rights Movement by those who participated. They were never “sure” of what would work. Some campaigns fizzled out. But persistence, creativity, determination, and focus were key.

ICONIC: Yosemite National Park workers just hung an upside-down American flag—THOUSANDS of feet up on El Capitan. That’s not decoration. That’s a distress signal. They’re telling us the country is in danger. Are you paying attention?

I want to amplify this "gripping tale about database hygiene" by Justin Wolfers, Professor of Public Policy and Economics at the University of Michigan. Elon Musk is not the Christopher Columbus of waste and fraud in the government, and there is no deep state discovery here. Keep pushing back...
One thing I've learned to do when I have questions about social security number holders who are age 100 or older is to look up the SSA Inspector General audit report, "Numberholders Age 100 or Older Who Did Not Have Death Information on the Numident."

Violence appears to be what they are asking for. This regime has no restraint, no boundaries, no shame, and no conscience, and Dems have no answer.
