Tried out the new Jackbox with some friends tonight.

Exhibit A: the single brain cell a few of us have shared for the past 20 years.

Two players took the same cookie (a treasure chest) and did the exact same thing in response to a prompt to "Make it wayyyyy too cute!" - gave it googly eyes, blush lines, and scattered hearts, with one named "Open me, senpai, uwu" and the other "Open Me, Senpai!"

From the first moment I read this, it has never left me. It's often safe to assume that a person has written (or spoken) intentionally and if I fail to understand then it's on me to try to rectify that. I sometimes fail, but try not to assume the worst or most foolish possible interpretation first.
That seems to point up a significant difference between Europeans and Americans. A European says: "I can't understand this, what's wrong with me?" An American says: "I can't understand this, what's wrong with him?" - (Terry Pratchett, alt.fan.pratchett)

Excerpt from Caroline Fraser's "Prairie Fires," biography of Laura Ingalls Wilder. From the opening chapters, specifically quoting the speech given by Dakota chief Little Crow before the Dakota War of 1862, after countless offenses and treaty violations by white settlers.

Painfully, sadly correct.
Little Crow's son later set down his father's words: "The white men are like the locusts when they fly so thick that the whole sky is a snowstorm. You may kill one-two-ten; yes, as many as the leaves in the forest yonder, and their brothers will not miss them ... ten times ten will come to kill you. Some more pins I also picked up while out and about the other day. I'm not really a believer in stuff like the Tarot as such, but I am big on the choice and use of symbols for oneself. And these two feel apt.

Also the eldritch horror cat is just cute.

Just arrived from @fairyfort.bsky.social 's "Cats with Jobs" pin Kickstarter as well as some extras added on. They're beautiful, my crappy lighting and phone camera don't do them justice, especially the dragon pin.

Hey, not trying to add to troubles, but maybe some concern on how Backerkit's processing pledges for the kitty pins - for mine, at least, it's showing the built-in shipping cost from the KS pledge as extra "credit" to spend on add-ons, and not adding in an actual shipping cost.

A ton of crap is also strewn about the room - five Ordinator helms (temple cops, not supposed to have these), another five Dark Brotherhood assassin masks, weapons and armor all over the bed, multiple sets of alchemical equipment, shelves full of weapons and armor. And chests and urns that are ALSO packed full of books, weapons, armor, scrolls, potions, gems, and alchemical ingredients.
