Hello all. I know there are lots of important needs out there in the world, but if you are interested in supporting autism services in Cork, we are raising funds for the Rainbow Club and I can speak from experience that they are excellent.

One of the best Tech Leads I've worked with is a note-taker.

For years he's kept his own personal running doc of things he's learned while trying to solve problems.

This has no doubt sped up his own problem-solving but it's also made him LIGHTNING fast at supporting teammates who have questions

I recently learnt about "mode effects". I recommend you do too, especially if you work with data from large cohorts.

You can hear @georgiatomova.bsky.social, @rjsilverwood.bsky.social, and others discuss what to do with mode effects next month!
We are organising a @royalstatsoc.bsky.social Social Statistics Section online event:

Handling survey mode effects

The campus location “was almost entirely a racial issue,” said one professor. “I believe they wanted to remove the Black community from here.”

You know what’s cool? Using #GroundedTheory and #CompassionateDesign to build a curriculum from scratch

I’ve been teaching a new grad school class for a few years now

The curriculum didn’t exist, and I never taught anything like it before

Have you done this?

I would watch that

Probably would be my all-time fav

I'd watch that!
14 new shows a year about medical doctors. Zero shows ever about medical statisticians. WTF!?
