Anyone doing #python development on #macos #osx : the latest "Xcode Command Line Tools" (16.3) seems to be causing maaajor slowdown for many Python operations. Seems to be resolved for now by downgrading to 16.2 from developer.apple.com/download/all...

NIH/NIAID/NIGMS research, training, *and* equipment grants made possible the first two atomic-resolution structures of coronavirus spike proteins, all the way back in 2016. But sure, tell us NIH-funded research isn't high-impact.

Per a source with knowledge, for all internal research (of which there is like $10 billion worth or so), ALL purchasing shut down as of yesterday.

That means gloves, reagents, anything involved with lab work, which means a lot of that work will stop.
